Stadtpartitur is a series of prints produced in Berlin in which Graydon tries to interpret elements of that city’s deep and fraught history from traces that scar its architectural surfaces. In attending to the material reverberations from historical master plans and designs for transforming the city, Graydon developed a method of metaphorical listening to structures of the built environment, a process that guides his work to this day. Works were printed in letterpress using materials including insulating styrofoam sheets and GDR commemorative envelopes.
